Half or Full Session? Here's How to Know What Fits Your Season Best

You want photos—but not just any photos.

You want the real stuff. The little moments that make up the big ones. The ones you’ll look back on and say, “That was us.”

But now you’re staring at the booking page thinking:

Do I go with a half session or a full session?

Let’s break it down—story style.

Couple sharing romantic moment in autumn forest with golden sunlight.
Toddler in pink tutu dress walking through vibrant tulip garden.
Children helping with baking using red stand mixer in kitchen.
Couple embraces in romantic autumn setting with golden sunlight filtering through yellow fall foliage.

💛 Half Sessions: The Snippet Keepers

These are your golden hour pop-ins.

The baby toes. The wind-in-your-hair silhouettes.

The 30 to 40 minutes minutes where we meet at the peak of light and capture the magic that’s already there.

Maybe you just welcomed a new little one, and you want a sweet, simple in-home session before time flies even more. Or maybe it’s been way too long since you had a photo that wasn't taken on an iPhone (maybe it's even been since your wedding day!), worthy enough to hang.

These sessions are short, intentional, and packed with heart.

They’re the moments you want to freeze and tuck into a scrapbook.

Half Sessions are for:

• In-home cuddles or playroom chaos

• Golden hour family snuggles

• Maternity memories

• Anniversary hugs

• Just-the-right-amount-of-messy kind of magic

Full Sessions: The Memory Makers

These are the slow burns.

The make-cookies-then-eat-them kind of sessions.

The grab-a-drink-then-stroll-by-the-water kind of sessions.

The ones where we aren’t just taking photos—we’re telling your story.

We have time. Time to let the kids warm up. Time for an outfit change or a location shift. Time for quiet cuddles after the giggles fade.

A full session gives us breathing room—space to explore and settle into your rhythm. You don’t have to rush. You get to be you. I'll be there for at least hour, maybe two, we'll see where the day (or evening!) takes us.

Full Sessions are for:

• Making pancakes, building forts, reading books

• Strolls through town and sitting at coffee shops, on your anniversary

• Newborn snuggles with big siblings involved

• Extended families, toddlers, or anyone who needs time to settle in (my son is also in the "i need to warm up to you for an hour first phase)

• Telling a full chapter—not just a page

So, What’s Right for You?

Ask yourself:

Do I want to freeze a moment in time? → A Half Session will do just that.

Do I want to drop fully into an experience and capture the whole story? → A Full Session was made for you.

And if you’re not quite sure? That’s okay.

I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up, and help you choose what fits this season best. Whether we’re making cookies or chasing light—I’ll be there, camera in hand, ready to help you press pause on the rush of life.

Let’s tell your story, your way. 💛
